IDEA

Jamaica Business Development Corporation and the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) had a bid for the creation of a publication that highlights their craft producers  to have a publication with the aim of improving the competitiveness and income-generating capabilities to be placed in resorts across the island.
The result was a memoir and candid series of stories behind what goes into creating a product, called True Stories. With intention of going beyond the product but to conjure an the emotional response from the reader causing action to buy and support these hidden stories, hidden artisans. It is found that throughout the lifetime of an artisan’s work, there is a meaningful story behind its ‘why’, ‘how’ and ‘when’. This gives the product further life beyond being just another product on a local shelf and that is what is captured in the publication.
